My teaching style is inspired by my love of all things nerdy. I am and always have been fascinated by superheroes. My favorite characteristic of a superhero isn't the traditional answer of strength, it is their ability to expand the limits of knowledge. I let my nerdy habits influence my teaching skills and it gets good results! I use pop culture references when I need to motivate or explain how a concept relates to the real world. I also try to use the method of prompting my pupils, then offering them a framework for their solution. I then have them figure out different ways the goal can be made. I don't expect my students to be perfect or have a perfect session, I just expect them to put in hard work. As far as subjects, I can help with essay writing and composition, English and literature, sociology, and more. My favorite things to research include pop culture, social movements, and rhetorical messages. For over three years, I have been teaching public speaking classes at the college level. This experience has helped me realize the many different ways students engage in and learn the material. I look forward to helping you or your student learn in more than just the traditional setting.
