Experience
I graduated from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas with a master's degree in special education. Since then, I've been working for the Clark County School District as a special education teacher, as well as a substitute teacher for about 15 years now. During my time as a student and a teacher, I also worked as a tutor where I helped students of all backgrounds and grade levels overcome various educational challenges. From my experience as a special education teacher and a tutor, I found that the best way to help students succeed is to incorporate a lot of resources and activities designed to enhance the learning experience. While my focus is in special education, I am qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects. However, math is my favorite to teach because it's something that plays an important role in all of our lives. I personally believe that the best way to help students succeed inside the classroom and out in the real world is by coming up with a diverse teaching strategy that incorporates a wide range of techniques that gives them the ability to learn through hands-on activities and visual aids. When I'm not working as a teacher, I enjoy walking, baking, and practicing yoga.
