As a teenager, I attended the Antmann School of Music, with a concentration in classical guitar. I am a multi-instrumentalist, proficient on guitar, mandolin, bass, and keyboards. I'm also an accomplished singer/songwriter, have performed all over the U.S. and the U.K. and have my original music available on iTunes and Spotify. From 2005 to 2007 and at various times over the course of my adult life, I have given private music lessons from my home to children ages 6 through 17, centering our lessons on theory and guitar technique. I'm also an award-winning/published poet. I appeared at this year's Vegas Valley Book Festival, where I read my poetry and performed my music. I'm the former editor/publisher of Burnt Toast poetry magazine, which ran from 1993-1995. I majored in journalism my first two years of college and reported for the school newspaper. I am versed in AP style technique and also do freelance writing, contributing to such websites as PositivelyLV.com and ObscureSound.com. I enjoy tutoring and mentoring, especially young children. I have a patient and fun approach and find it fulfilling to give of my skills to the community.
